Initially 15-30 mg in the evening. Maintenance: 15-45 mg/day.

May be taken with or without food.

Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions
Epilepsy & cardiac disorders eg, conduction disturbances, angina pectoris & recent MI; hypotension, DM, psychoses & history of bipolar disorder. Discontinue treatment if fever, sore throat, stomatitis, other signs of infection & jaundice develops. Perform blood count. Micturition disturbances, angle-closure glaucoma & increased IOP. Potential risk of w/drawal & suicidal tendencies. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Renal or hepatic impairment. Elderly.

Adverse Reactions
Increased appetite & wt gain; drowsiness or sedation; jaundice; hyponatremia particularly in elderly. Extrapyramidal effects, serotonin syndrome.
